Boko Haram Launches Deadly Attack In Yobe


The Islamic sect- Boko Haram has launch a fresh deadly attack at Bara town of Gulani local government area of Yobe State which reportedly left many residents dead.A top police officer confirmed the attack and said that the Yobe state Commissioner of police, Zannah Ibrahim had since rushed to the scene of the attack to acertain the extent of havoc wrecked.


However, the official did not give any casualty number.

The town which currently lacks basic amenities and telecom services due to militants incessant vandalism was again raided on Wednesday, October 28.

Residents said the militants burnt down houses, shops, foodstuffs, among other valuables, using Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

Mallam Sule Yaji, a resident who spoke to newsmen in Damaturu, said: “They stormed the town chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ as locals took to their heels into the bushes for safety.”

Yaji disclosed that the Boko Haram members who arrived the town in large numbers burnt several houses during the coordinated attack.

According to him, some of the residents caught up in the houses set ablaze were receiving treatment at Bajoga Hospital in neighbouring Gombe state.
