FG orders arrest of ex-Customs boss

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been ordered by the federal government to arrest former Comptroller-General of Customs Abdullahi Inde DikkoDikko presided over the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) from 2009 to August 17, 2015, when he voluntarily resigned as the Comptroller-General of Customs.

According to Nigerian Tribune, the anti-graft agency has ordered its operatives to arrest the former Customs boss anywhere he was found.

EFCC operatives stormed Dikko’s residence at Jabi in Abuja, on Friday, January 8 and turned the house upside down looking for some incriminating documents over the on-going investigation of some petitions against him while in office.

A source said Dikko left the country after he voluntarily resigned as Comptroller-General of Customs in August last year, adding that he was yet to come back to the country.

Meanwhile, EFCC may seek extradition of the former comptroller-general of Nigeria Customs Service, from Dubai if he fails to honour its invitation.

A source close to the EFCC said that the failure of Dikko to honour the invitation may mean the use of extradition from the United Arab Emirates, where the former customs boss is suspected to be living since his retirement.
