The people involved with the movie Straight Outta Compton such as Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, NBC Universal, and many other have been slam with a $110 million lawsuit by former N.W.A manager, Jerry Heller.
According to the lawsuit, the film is filled with mistakes and intentionally makes Heller — who was played by Paul Giamatti — the bad guy of the movie.
The lawsuit alleges that Heller is presented as a sleazy manager who only took advantage of the group, making them sign unfavorable contracts and duping them off their own money.
Heller says he never consented to have them use his name or likeness in the lawsuit, further adding that they stole content from his own screenplay and books.
The movie is the highest-grossing musical biopic of all time, and Heller clearly wants a piece of the pie.
“The larger the success of the film, the greater the damages,” the lawsuit said.
